⑴ Safety valve 밸브에 작용하는 정압에 의해 순간적으로 작동하는 기능을 가진 압력 완화 장치이다. Steam, Gas 등 주로 폭발성 or 압축성 유체 등에 사용된다. A safety valve is an automatic pressure-relieving device actuated by the static pressure upstream of the valve and characterized by rapid full opening or pop action. It is used for gas or vapor service. (In the petroleum industry it is used normally for steam or air) ⑵ Relief valve 유체의 압력이 소정의 위치에 달했을 때 압력상승에 대응하여 자동 개폐기능을 가진 밸브로서 주로 액체의 압력상승 방지를 위하여 사 용된다. A relief valve is an automatic pressure-relieving device actuated by the static pressure upstream of the valve. The valve opens in proportion to the increase in pressure over the opening pressure. It is used primarily for liquid service. ⑶ Safety-Relief valve 용도에 따라 Safety valve, Relief valve로 사용할 수 있는 겸용 밸브이다. A safety-relief valve is an automatic pressure-relieving device suitable for use as either a safety or relief valve, depending on app lication.(In the petroleum industry it is normally used in gas and vapor service or for liquid.)
